The autochthonous grape is a particular variety of vine cultivated and widespread in the same historical area of origin of the vine itself, therefore it is a vine not transplanted from other areas.
Each autochthonous grape has its characteristic and distinctive shape and color of the bunch, of the grain and of the leaves and gives to the wine, obtained from it, some very precise and typical organoleptic characteristics.
In Italy there are about 350 autochthonous grape varieties officially registered.
